Our Story
The Spark
It was the Spring of 2019, where Moni was invited to an LAFC soccer game by her coworker, and Eddy was an LAFC season pass holder with his college buddy (hint: this was the same person — Rhett here is your shout-out!). Much to her dismay, Moni arrived to a 6-pack of Modelos for 8 people, where she surely expressed her disappointment to the beverage sponsor, Eddy. Who could have known this would blossom into love?
The first date (although highly contested) was a concert in LA where sparks were flying. Moni and Eddy would spend the next few months getting to know each other, until they made it official in San Diego, where Eddy asked the age-old question (“When can I call you my girlfriend?” 🤔). It was February 2020, and the future looked bright (or so they thought, hello COVID-19!).
The Magic
Although it was “unprecedented times”, Moni and Eddy made it through the pandemic side by side. They hit career milestones, explored national parks, and binged countless shows. During their time alone together, their love deepened, and they learned they were each other's person.
As the world slowly started to open back up again, they traveled the world together, visiting over 9 countries. When in LA, they frequented concerts, music festivals, and LAFC / Dodger games.
Eventually, Moni convinced Eddy a cat was a great idea (even with Eddy being very allergic 😼). Oslo came into their lives, and they wondered how they ever got by without his loving demands.
The Yes
In August 2024, Eddy finally decided to the pop the big question. Eddy and Moni (and their trusty sidekick, Oslini) made their way to Malibu to watch the sunset at Eddy’s old stomping grounds.
After some time, Eddy insisted they move to a special location where they shared one of their very first dates together. It was finally then at this point that Moni thought, could this be the moment? And why didn’t Eddy tell her so she could wash her hair?
And it surely was. Eddy proposed to Moni on a Malibu cliffside with the sunset and Pacific Ocean as their background. The ring box was upside down, but the vibes were immaculate (and the ring was safe 💍). They were soon joined by some of their closest friends, sharing a toast to celebrate their future lives together.
